GOOD TO KNOW

A few things, explained.

Clear answers before you share.

What is metadata, and why remove it?

Metadata is information stored alongside your file: a photo’s GPS location, camera details, dates or a document’s author. Removing supported fields can help you share less personal information. It does not hide what is visible in the image or document.

Do my files leave my device?

No. Files are read and processed locally in your browser. This version has no upload endpoint, analytics, external fonts or third-party scripts. You can disconnect after the page has loaded; PDF support loads locally the first time you use it.

Will my photos lose quality?

The compressed image data in supported JPG, PNG and WebP files is preserved without re-encoding. ICC color profiles stay by default. EXIF orientation is removed, so some photos can appear rotated or mirrored even though the pixels are unchanged.

Does this remove every trace of AI?

No. It removes supported file metadata such as Stable Diffusion parameters, ComfyUI text fields and image C2PA containers. Invisible watermarks such as SynthID, visible watermarks and clues within the pixels remain.

What are the PDF limitations?

PDF cleanup removes common document metadata: the Info dictionary and XMP metadata streams. Embedded image metadata, attachments, hidden text, annotations, form values and revisions may remain. Signed and encrypted PDFs are refused. This is not a redaction tool.

Is there a batch or file size limit?

There is no imposed file count, daily quota or sign-in. Available memory and browser limits still apply, especially on phones. ZIP downloads use the classic ZIP format, so each archive must stay below 4 GB and contain no more than 65,535 files. Use smaller batches if your browser struggles.
